MOLTO Bistro Cafe

We went to Molto last Thursday night and were surprised to see a DJ spinning and an awesome tapas menu. Shared a good variety from lamb sliders to a duo of tartare. The atmosphere was great, the service staff were accomodating and the price was really reasonable. It's a busy place so I will definetly make a reservation when we return. We were told that they offer Jazz on Saturdays so look forward to checking that out on our next night out!

I am just infuriated over the treatment we received at Molto. I have been there many times and the food is fantastic. Last year I even organized a dinner there for my birthday and it was lovely and delicious and the best service. This year was a total letdown.

One of my friends who attended is a single parent. She only had enough to cover her bill and give a $2 tip. Its all she had! When we were leaving our sub-par waitress who had basically been ignoring us all night while she stood at the bar flirting with the male staff, stopped her to ask if there was a problem with the food or the service because of the tip. I think this was appropriate as someone who is conscientious of their work should ask. When my friend indicated that no, everything was fine this waitress then yelled out You know gratuity is 15 Percent here!! I was too shocked to react at the time but rest assured I will be making a call to Molto today and unfortunately this server almost ruined the whole evening for me. And it certainly did for my friend who was mortified.

Never buy any coupons from this restaurant, they will certainly refuse to honour them, even if no conditions on the coupon excludes some hours.

This place otherwise is decent, but this is not a place to go in order to have a lunch inside one hour. It took almost one hour and a half.

Sounds like a disgruntled former employee can get onto these sites for reviews. Perhaps they are responsible for more than one negative review below as the history and what I know as a regular customer speaks for itself. I've been a regular at Molto for over a year. The food is always fresh and of quality. Service is always friendly and attentive. I have seen this place packed and they have always been gracious and generous if falling behind in the kitchen. As for management they have the best manager in the area! Terri is amazing! We all appreciate her and I know that many of the staff do as well.

I really hope Molto can find the right mix of employees to keep up with the demand for one of the best gifts to the Hull strip in years!

Waste of money, unfortunatly. Maybe dinners (with the federal) will save the businness. Risotto = discusting, pasta =ok, expensive= a lot, for what you get in return.

We we're a group of 20 and the service was bad. The staff had no patience, do not ask a question without expecting a rude answer with a lot of attitude. We didn't feel welcome at all. I f they can't accomodate a group maybe they should refuse reservation instead.

i love the chef who work there but the rest suck very badly if you wanna work there be warn that the managers are really bad people, they dont pay you if they dont want to...how good it that...good luck if you wanna try but for sure youll see what i mean

Molto has one of the best beef tenderloins around, goes great with a nice glass of red wine!

Really cozy environment, loved the homemade Gnocchi, friendly service. Had live music on a Friday evening which was a nice touch.

Was really impressed with our evening at Molto. The food is classic Italian with really authentic flavours. I really appreciate the fact that they have gluetan free pasta and build your own Table d'hotes. They have a private dining area so we were able to be loud without disturbing others. The staff were very attentive and friendly. A great night out.

There are not enough places that really care about their clients. Molto really seems to take the extra step and care about suggestions and recommendations. The head server asked us for our favorite wine and promised they would add it to the new wine menu for our next visit and they gave us a free round of digestifs that I thought added a the a nice evening. The menu has a lot of options that remind me of my nonna's cooking. The pommodoro sauce, chicken, veal and lamb are all good. The thin crust pizza is also great. Reservations are a good idea especially with the live jazz on Thursday and Saturday.

A great place to dine. The thin crust pizzas are delicious, love the charcuterie and cheese menu, wine is affordable and they have a good selection of beer on tap. The live Jazz on Thursdays makes it worth the trip.

Food taste, very genuine. Though you can eat Italian in hundreds of restaurants in Ottawa area, there seems to be mama's hand in the Italian they serve at Molto. Loved it!!

I went to eat there and worked there the food and service is exceptional, but it is disorganized in the kitchen and there is no space.

Went to MOLTO Bistro with a group of girlfriends one Friday evening. The food was exceptional, service was great. The atmosphere was very cozy, yet modern. This is a great restaurant to have joined the Promenade du Portage area.
